DevWhisper is published by Studio Eleven, a company registered in Lyon, France. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our app works. This Privacy Policy explains what data DevWhisper collects, how it is processed, and how we protect it.

DevWhisper is designed with a privacy-first approach. We believe your voice and your words belong to you.

Voice data: When you activate DevWhisper, your voice is captured by your microphone and transcribed locally on your device using the Whisper speech recognition engine. Your raw audio is never sent to any external server and is not stored after transcription.

Transcribed text: The transcribed text is refined locally on your device by an on-device language model (LLM) for grammar correction and formatting. No text is sent to any external server. The text is not stored by DevWhisper after insertion.

Usage analytics: We do not collect any usage analytics, telemetry, or tracking data. DevWhisper does not contain any third-party analytics SDKs.

Account data: DevWhisper does not require an account. No email, name, or personal information is collected.

Speech recognition is performed entirely on your Mac using the Whisper model. Your audio never leaves your device for transcription purposes. This ensures your spoken words remain private and under your control at all times.

Text refinement is performed entirely on your Mac using an on-device language model. Your transcribed text is never sent to any external server. The LLM runs locally, ensuring your words stay private and under your full control.

DevWhisper does not maintain a database of your transcriptions. Your preferences and settings are stored locally on your device using standard macOS mechanisms (UserDefaults). No data is synced to any cloud service.

DevWhisper is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect data related to your download and usage of the app in accordance with their own privacy policy.

DevWhisper does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, or data brokers. All processing happens locally on your device.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French law, you have the right to:

• Access any personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Object to or restrict the processing of your data
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

Since DevWhisper does not collect or store personal data, these rights are inherently respected by the design of our application.

DevWhisper is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
